Venice and Antwerp, Part Two: Forms of ReligionThis title is no longer available from the Roland Collection. Details remain on this site for the reference of previous customers.
In the sixteenth century religion had a far greater impact on society in general; it dominated many aspects of life now presided over by government and social services. On location in Venice and Antwerp, we see that the two great cities were no exception to this rule; and yet, despite the supremacy of the Catholic Church, vital minorities such as Jews, Greeks and Germans were also allowed relative freedom to practice their own religions. |
