Sculpture AustraliaIn sculpture as in the other arts, Australia has achieved a world reputation in recent years, though often at the cost of losing some of its most gifted artists to other countries. In this film Tim Burstall examines the Australian sculptors working in Australia and overseas, analyzes their attitudes and asks them to sum up their views about modern sculpture. Among the artists who appear is Ken Reinhart, juxtaposing plastic, sheet-metal and electric-light globes to create strange tributes to the technological world. Many other, less radical sculptors also talk and show their work, providing a unique insight into this often misunderstood art. |
