Help on the Indexes

General Index - this is the major index for the Roland Collection, and contains a large and comprehensive number of cross-references to the topics and subjects covered by the entire collection of programs. All program titles are shown in bold. Some links where more than one program matches the entry, such as 'also featured in', will generate lists of program entries. All program entries are followed by their catalog number. The General Index also contains many sub-indexes, e.g. art discipline, art periods, countries and optional language versions for which there may also be multiple entries (again represented by lists of links to the matching programs).

The Index icon will always show the first page of the General Index, i.e. all the entries for A. Any other part of the alphabetically ordered index may be accessed through clicking on the letter link immediately below the General Index title. All the other specific indexes, as described below, may be accessed from the links for these indexes which are also found at the top of each index page.

Awards Index - this index lists the awards won by the various films and videos in the Roland Collection. This index is alphabetically organised by the countries of origin for each of the awards, each country containing one or more sub-categories for the place, organization or area of the award(s).

Composers Index - composers of specially commisioned music featured in programs of the Roland Collection are alphabetically ordered by their last names in this index.

Directors Index - the directors of films and videos in the Roland Collection are alphabetically ordered by their last names in this index.

Narrators Index - narrators of programs in the Roland Collection are alphabetically ordered by their last names in this index.

Scriptwriters Index - scriptwiters for the programs in the Roland Collection are alphabetically ordered by their last names in this index.

All of the above indexes may be accessed from any one individual index through the links at both the top and bottom of the current index page. The General Index can be accessed by either selecting the required alphabet letter or by clicking on the Index icon.

A number of Icons will appear at the top and bottom of each page in the guid to enable you to find your way round more easily as follows:

Search - presents you with the General Search Form which contains a number of categories and options by which you may select programs which meet your requirements and criteria.

Contents - takes you to the Electronic Resource Guide Contents page

Help - displays a help page (such as this) with information about the page that help is called from, and also information about adjacent pages and options. Help is context-sensitive.

Period - takes you to the Art Historical Chronological Contents page

Index - takes you to the General Index described above.
