An educational series which gives an all-round introduction to the study of the past through the investigation of historic sites. Subjects include a group of young people visiting archaeologists at Maiden Castle, Dorset, England, who suddenly find themselves transported back into a `re-created' past; a discussion of the best place to build a medieval castle; and methods of discovering what the day-to-day life of monks in Rievaulx Abbey, North Yorkshire, would have been like.
