This series studies the ways in which people outside the mainstream have tried to broaden the possibilities of architecture. One program profiles a school which teaches do-it-yourself house building. Another describes people who have broken new ground in building - for example, a Texan sculptor who spent ten years welding a 'house of steel' - and the third ponders the creative alternatives that will be available to architects in the future, such as a home entirely controlled by a 'house-brain', or a colony on the moon.

Repeated titles occur in the list opposite where the program entry appears in different sections (indicated by the colored prefix number) of the Resource Guide and consequently may have different descriptions and illustrations.
