A detailed look at the inside and outside of Hill House, Helensburgh, near Glasgow, with its panoramic view of the Clyde, built by Mackintosh for the publisher Walter Blackie in 1903. In Memories of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Blackie described how he came to commission the house after seeing Mackintosh's Glasgow School of Art. How did the relationship between client and architect and the client's individual needs affect the style of the house, and how are its interior and exterior design related to each other? Also how much, or how little, did traditional Scottish forms of architecture influence Mackintosh's work?
